Bill Milliken Installed as 2013 MAR President

1983 MAR President Paul Scott with Michigan Governor Rick Snyder present installed Bill Milliken as the 100th President of the Michigan Association of REALTORS®  at its 2012 Convention & Expo at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn. Milliken, who holds CCIM and CIPS REALTOR® designations, served on the MAR Board of Directors, since 2009, representing the Michigan Commercial Alliance of REALTORS®. He will officially take office on January 1, 2013. “Both the board and the association are pleased to turn the reins over to such an experienced REALTOR®.” remarked Beth Foley, 2012 MAR President.

Milliken began work in real estate in Ann Arbor in 1987, and served as a director of Republic Bancorp. Milliken Realty, which he formed in 1996, was named a Best of Michigan Business in 2008. He was named REALTOR® of the Year by the Ann Arbor Board of REALTORS® (2000) and the Commercial Board of REALTORS® (2006). Previously, he worked in Washington, D.C. for NASA and the U.S. Dept. of Justice. Bill has served on the board of the CCIM Institute since 2006, where he has held numerous leadership positions. He was also a delegate on CCIM’s trade mission to China in 2006. He is a member of the board of New Detroit, served as president of the Commercial Board of REALTORS® and board chair of the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce. He graduated from Colorado College.
